Dubai Connect in Bogotá: Colombian Family Offices and UAE delegation in exclusive gathering
On August 20, Dubai Chambers and T&C Consulting Group brought together Colombia's leading family offices with a high-level UAE delegation in Bogotá, marking a milestone in building Latin America-Middle East bridges.
On August 20, 2025, Bogotá hosted Dubai Connect, Exclusive Gathering for Family Offices, a private event organized by Dubai Chambers and T&C Consulting Group with the support of Family Office Network. The event brought together the leading family offices of Colombia and a high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates.
A Latin America-Middle East bridge
The gathering included H.E. Mohamed Abdulla Ali Binkhater Alshamsi, Ambassador of the UAE to Colombia; Mohammad Al Kassim, Director Europe & Americas at Dubai Chambers; Sebastian Vargas, Chief Representative of Dubai Chambers Colombia; and Santiago Tamayo, President of Family Office Network. From T&C Consulting Group, partners Carolina Pinzón Faccini and Pablo Andrés Pérez García attended, alongside senior leaders Julián Andrés Quiceno Carmona and María Camila García Méndez.
Why the UAE is now a central jurisdiction for Latin family offices
For Colombian family offices, the UAE consolidates a unique proposition: regulatory stability, sophisticated patrimonial vehicles such as DIFC and ADGM Foundations, deep private banking, global connectivity and a competitive tax regime under the Corporate Tax Law (Federal Decree-Law 47/2022) with the Qualifying Free Zone Person figure. Add to this the Colombia-UAE double taxation treaty, in force since 2023, which provides a favorable framework for flows of dividends, interest and royalties.
What follows the gathering
This kind of event consolidates an investment and cooperation agenda already underway. For T&C, this meeting reaffirms the commitment to bridge Latin America and the UAE, building a trust environment for investment, business cooperation and global expansion.
